Main types of magnetic beads used in chemiluminescence

The following sandwich method is used as an example to introduce the types of magnetic beads commonly used in chemiluminescence platforms.

Carboxyl magnetic beads:

Carboxyl magnetic beads are coupled to capture antibodies through a one-step or two-step method under the activation of EDC and NHS.

Amino magnetic beads:

Amino magnetic beads are coupled to capture antibodies in a chemiluminescent system under activation with glutaraldehyde or cyanoborohydride.

Tosyl magnetic beads:

Tosyl magnetic beads can be directly coupled to capture antibodies in a boric acid and ammonium sulfate buffer.

SA-coupled magnetic beads:

In order to shorten the product development cycle, in vitro diagnostic companies often choose SA-coupled magnetic beads, which are relatively simple to operate. However, the cost of SA-coupled magnetic beads is high, which is not conducive to companies reducing costs and coping with cost pressures brought about by national centralized procurement and other policies. SA-coupled magnetic beads bind to biotin-labeled capture antibodies through affinity binding.
