IVD Future Academy In Vitro Diagnostic Reagent Industry Senior Engineer Training Course

The IVD Future Academy In Vitro Diagnostic Reagent Industry Senior Engineer Training Course, jointly sponsored by Jiachun Diagnostic Reagent (Guangdong) Co., Ltd. and Merck Chemical Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., has been successfully completed in April and June 2023. The training course adopts a small class teaching method, each session lasts for 6 days, and the theme mainly revolves around lateral chromatography technology-colloidal gold and quantum dots

With the advent of the post-epidemic era, the capitalization upgrade of the in vitro diagnostic industry, the far-reaching impact of the national centralized procurement policy and the advent of the era of anti-globalization, more and more local companies have realized the strategic significance of comprehensively improving the level of R&D and production process technology, expanding new tracks, and connecting with the world's leading level. As the world's leading enabler of the in vitro diagnostic industry, Merck has established four global in vitro diagnostic application development centers in Guangzhou and Shanghai, China, Milwaukee, USA, and Cork, Ireland, aiming to bring global wisdom to help Chinese in vitro diagnostic companies connect with the world. At the same time, Merck China's in vitro diagnostics division launched the Queen Bee plan, an international ecological strategy for the in vitro diagnostic industry, in 2022. The plan aims to bring global wisdom to help Chinese in vitro diagnostic companies connect with the world and enable the international ecological chain of the in vitro diagnostic industry: including providing Chinese companies with market information, raw material screening and optimization, customized raw material development, reagent formulation research and development, production process development, and capacity expansion consulting and guidance. The training course for senior engineers in the in vitro diagnostic industry is part of the plan.

The two training courses aim to further popularize and enhance the basic knowledge and experimental skills of in vitro diagnostic industry related technologies, track the latest developments in the industry at home and abroad, and assist enterprises in incubating senior technical talents. The training course revolves around the "Lateral Flow" technology, covering the product design theory and complete process flow of the two technical application platforms of colloidal gold and quantum dots. The course adopts a teaching method that combines technical explanations with hands-on experiments to provide each student with a platform for full communication with experts. Through two days of theoretical teaching and four days of practical operation, it ensures that each student can fully practice. The training course arranges a rich outdoor dinner and high-end salons such as career promotion interviews, so that each student can fully and deeply communicate.

2024 1st phase activities

A gathering of big names, a grand event | The 2024 1st IVD Future Academy Senior Engineer Training Course for the In Vitro Diagnostic Reagent Industry has concluded successfully!

The first training course of IVD Future Academy for Senior Engineers in the In Vitro Diagnostic Reagent Industry in 2024 was successfully concluded in Guangzhou in March. This training was held in conjunction with Merck's 2024 Asia-Pacific Lateral Flow Rapid Test Development Seminar, which closely combined theory with practice. Nearly a hundred people participated in the four-day seminar, with the theme mainly focusing on the application of lateral flow in the development of in vitro diagnostic reagents. At the seminar, senior technical application experts from Jiachun, together with Merck scientists and nearly a hundred Asian industry leaders, discussed in depth the cutting-edge market dynamics of lateral flow technology, new technology trends and product development technology and other related topics, and fully exchanged the experience and experience of the research and development of lateral flow diagnostic kits. During the seminar, participants actively asked questions and shared their experimental results, technical experience and application cases, and conducted intense discussions and exchanges on various technical problems currently faced. This face-to-face sharing promoted in-depth understanding and cooperation with customers, and made great contributions to jointly promoting the high-quality development of lateral flow platforms in the Asia-Pacific region.

During the seminar, Mr. Lin Tao, founder of Jiachun Diagnostics, put forward constructive suggestions on the application of lateral chromatography automated production lines and how to support diagnostic companies in the transition from manual to automated production. Every specific and vivid case, especially the amazing contributions and efforts made during the COVID-19 pandemic, reflects the company's vision and social responsibility. In particular, the enabling services of the in vitro diagnostic platform have attracted the attention and interest of domestic and foreign customers, laying a very solid foundation for subsequent in-depth cooperation between companies. On-site practical training allows participants to conduct physical operations, experience the entire chromatography product development process, and the precautions that need to be focused on during the research and development process.

Designing a lateral flow assay kit is a complex process involving biology, chemistry, physics and engineering. Optimizing the performance of lateral flow assays requires an overall understanding of the structure, protein binding properties, capillary flow properties, consistency and inherent variability of nitrocellulose membranes. Merck experts also provided in-depth interpretations of the application of nitrocellulose membranes, microspheres, antibodies, blocking agents and sealants.
